Greetings, Blogmonauts!

Today, on the 14th day of our Festive Finds: Happy Holidays Calendar, we open the door upon a traditional and familiar friend - so many of us had a trusted Ted when we were little ones, a part of the warm and comforting Ted continuum, who would listen to our troubles and get cuddles at night. 

This Ted was originally dreamed up to be an everyted kind of character. You know them, and they know you. They're just...Ted.

When I (Fay) originally drew this brill bear, I had an idea in mind that I couldn't quite realise on the screen; a year later, with all the art improvements that brings, they were a lot closer to what I had in mind. Here's the before and after - what a difference a year makes!

The idea was to show our fuzzy friend in what looks like a study - reminiscent of those days at relatives' houses where you'd just create a playspace pretty much wherever you could. Plus, from a visual design point of view, it's a lot easier to introduce seven differences when the scene has more going on.  Plus, I was never happy with those blocks before - but they feel a lot blockier now! Still the same loyal Ted though.

Did you have a ted of your own? Or a dragon, or cat plush friend? We've still got a lot of them, all with their own personalities and voices - a menagerie of chums to brighten the days. But that's a story for another time...
